The Monroe Police Department will be conducting a Citizen’s Police Academy . The program is designed to promote and enhance citizen understanding and awareness of the role of the Monroe Police Department within our community. The objectives of the course are to provide citizens with a basic understanding of the functions of the Monroe Police Dept., to encourage greater communication between the Police and the community, and to increase understanding of the Law and the Police Officer’s role in the Criminal Justice System.

· Crisis Intervention Training

· Narcotics Investigations

· Traffic Stops

· Use of Force/Less Lethal
