The City of Monroe, Louisiana, is the parish seat in Ouachita Parish and has a population of approximately 50,000 citizens. Monroe, the largest city in northeast Louisiana and 8th largest in the state, is located 99 miles east of Shreveport, Louisiana along the Interstate 20 corridor. Two major thoroughfares, Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 165, intersect in Monroe and the city is geographically located within a 4-hour drive from Dallas, Texas, Memphis, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana.
The police department Administration Office is located at 1810-B Martin L. King Drive in the City of Monroe Public Safety Center. The department employs, when fully staffed, 125 sworn officers and 48 support employees. The career opportunities at MPD include Patrol, Investigations, Narcotics, K-9 Unit, Dive Team, SWAT, Bomb Technicians, Street Crimes Unit, Communications Officer, Jailer/Booking Officer, Evidence Officer and Record Clerk among others. Our commitment to you is to preserve peace and public order, prevent and detect crime, apprehend offenders, and protect persons and property under the laws of the State of Louisiana and the ordinances of the City of Monroe.

FROM THERE YOU CAN FIND THE LOCATION WHERE THE TEST WILL BE GIVEN. NOTE: THERE IS A BEGINNING DATE AS WELL AS A DEADLINE DATE. PLEASE BE SURE TO COMPLETE THE CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION AT THE BEGINNING POSTED DATE AND PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE DATE.
ONCE THIS IS COMPLETED AND YOU HAVE RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION OF THE CIVIL SERVICE TEST A MONROE POLICE DEPT. APPLICATION WILL BE GIVEN TO BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY. IT IS IMPORTANT TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FULLY ANY INFORMATION THAT IF OMMITTED FROM THE APPLICATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
